Downloaded j2se, unpacked installed no problem.
Downloaded ant 1.6.5 unpack, looks good
Downloaded cgwin via setup.exe... lots of **.tar.bz2 files I can't seem to unzip (any ideas? I'm sure this one is easy)
So I move on to... http://openssh.org/windows.html
Is where I landed and it has a good # of choices but since I havn't gotten cgwin off the ground yet, I'm betting I should wait to choose.
Then I get to
To build Sphinx-4, at the command prompt change to the directory where you installed Sphinx-4 (usually, a simple "cd sphinx4" will do). Set your JAVA_HOME, ANT_HOME and PATH environment variables as described above. Then type the following:ant
As described above?
I feel a little silly, but I can't seem to find that...
as a sidenote trying to run the jar's in the bin of sphinx before getting all this figured out means a reboot.(A lesson in patience :) )
I imagine that most or all of these have been handled in previous threads, but I havn't found them, though I did pour thru them until it seemed I had entered sphinx3 territory pretty far.
So excited about v2t eventually coming together on my machine, but lost in the land of 'not windows'.
(I'm SO willing to learn linux about now, it's silly.)

This is a ftpsite with a big list and I'm lost, I also see more bz2 files :(
