Objective is to create a simple app on android or x86 platform using
pocketsphinx and building a small dictionary for it to recognize a handful of

and quite frankly, a lot of it is over my head, especially since i am almost
exclusively a windows developer and have very little unix / linux
experience.....sorry!
I have downloaded and compiled pocketsphinx in VS2010 and run
pocketsphinx_continuous although i have no idea what to do with it. ... and I
admit it took me over a week that probably takes you guys 10 mins.
Any help would be appreciated on how to proceed..it's for personal use for
now, but my longer term plan is to create a commercial application in which
case i could use some consulting services that i am willing to compensate for.
I understand that would be going out on a limb, so i understand if no one is
willing to get me started, but a next step would be much appreciated.

If you have compiled pocketsphinx you can start with a sample application as
described in
http://cmusphinx.sourceforge.net/wiki/tutorialpocketsphinx
It should give you enough information how to create pocketsphinx application
If you have more specific questions you are welcome to ask them.
