The CMSformE Crew is pleased to announce the release of CMSformE Version 0.0.4 - Milestone 4. See http://cmsforme.sourceforge.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3D46 for more details. This is (hopefully) the final release on the 0.0.x branch. Future development will be towards the 0.1.x release, which is actually an "unstable" development branch for release as 0.2.0. From this point on, we will be following the Linux kernel method of version numbering. This release contains some expanded DBMS support, with MySQL and PostgreSQL being fully supported. MSSQL and Firebird/Interbase support is not guaranteed, but if you have the knowledge to help us support them in future releases, please do. Also, while Spanish and French language packs were in development, they were not completed due to the lack of fluent translators available. If you have the knowledge needed for translating ANY language, please volunteer your time and help us. I apologize for the extended delay in the release of this milestone, which was due to the lack of resources needed for porting to other DBMSes and translating to other languages. Rest assured, though, that the 0.1.x branch has been in private development during this time. During the next week, all of the privately developed code will be committed to the CVS repository and official work will begin. The release of 0.1.0 is still scheduled for March 2005. --=20 Gordon P. The CMSformE Crew is proud to announce the CMSformE Conference 2004! The conference will be held to benefit the developers of CMSformE by getting input from current or potential users. There will be discussion regarding current and future development, including features that should and should not be implemented. Also, if anyone wants to help develop, document, or localize (language or DBMS) CMSformE, they can apply by visiting the conference, as well. The main part of the conference is currently in progress (having started at 3:00 PM EDT on Friday, September 10, 2004), and it will continue until 12:00 Midnight on Sunday, September 12, 2004 (the early morning of Monday, September 13, 2004). There will also be subsequent sessions throughout September, as follows: Starting: Wednesday, September 15, 2004 @ 3:00 PM EDT Ending: Sunday, September 19, 2004 @ 12 Midnight EDT Starting: Friday, September 24, 2004 @ 3:00 PM EDT Ending: Sunday, September 26, 2004 @ 12 Midnight EDT All sessions will be held in the CMSformE IRC channel. See this topic < http://cmsforme.sourceforge.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3D11 > for more details. If you do not have an IRC channel, and you would like to join in the discussion, Music-HQ.net < http://www.music-hq.net/ > has been nice enough to donate a Java IRC client and the bandwidth used to operate it. It can be found here < http://www.music-hq.net/forums/chat.php >. Thanks for your interest in CMSformE, and we hope to see you at the confere= nce! --=20 Gordon P. The CMSformE Crew is pleased to announce the release of CMSformE Version 0.0.3 - Milestone 3. See http://cmsforme.sourceforge.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3D46 for more details. All basic features are now complete. The next release will contain compatibility and accessibility changes, and then work will be branched to begin on 0.1.x, which will contain, above all, modules support. After that branching, any subsequent releases on the 0.0.x branch will be for bug fixes only. Please thoroughly test this release, and if you have access to a DBMS other than MySQL, please volunteer your time, if possible. I apologize for the odd timing of this release, and the confusion the July 4th release may have caused. These were all internal mis-communications and things of that nature. This is the latest and final official release of CMSformE 0.0.3. --=20 Gordon P. Hemsley gph...@gm... http://www.lttp.net/ =E2=80=A2 http://cmsforme.sourceforge.net/ |

The release of Milestone 2, scheduled for March 9th, has been postponed due=20 to a major, unresolved bug. Once this bug is fixed as much as possible,=20 Milestone 2 will be released. Hello, and thank you for your interest in CMSformE. When we released Milestone 1 back in November, it was exactly 4 months after= =20 we started the project. I would like to keep up the trend, and it turns out=20 that we have not missed the deadline. Four months since the release of Miles= tone=20 1 will be March 8th or 9th, depending on how you count. I hope to get the=20 last Milestone 2 changes committed by the 8th and then release the package o= n the=20 9th. I then hope to continue this trend in the future. If this happens, we=20 could be at Beta status by November 2004. Unfortunately, I can't guarantee any of this. Any discussion on the matter,=20 or any other matter, should be done at the forums or in the IRC channel. See= =20 the website for these details. Gordon Hemsley gph...@us...
