The CMDBuild Project was born in 2005 with the immediate aim of implementing a CMDB system (Configuration Management Database) ITIL compliant, and with the ambition in the longer term to make available a complete and integrated environment for configuring Asset Management applications.

After over ten years of life, almost thirty-years of "core" activities, and a further thirty-years of support activities to our customers, the project has been strongly consolidated both in its functionality that its diffusion.

The technical aspects are described in the pages of the functionality and characteristics and can be further studied in the manuals available on the site.

About its diffusion, CMDBuild in its various products has been downloaded almost 100,000 times from SourceForge by over 200 nations, is localized in dozens oflanguages in different alphabets and was installed from Tecnoteca at many customers worldwide.

The basic system, which maintains the same name of the project, is the product CMDBuild, an environment that can be used to configure customizable solutions for the IT governance, or generically for the asset management.

With the same basic environment (same core) we have developed the READY2USE version, which can be immediately use in the production environment. This version, which was born from the long lasting experience with our customers, is inspired by the ITIL best practices and completed with all the essential features required to manage the IT governance for medium and big organizations.

Starting from the same value basic environment, we have also created openMAINT, a specific tool for the Property and Facility management which supports the users in operating buildings, installations, movable assets and related maintaining activities.

CMDBuild is released with AGPL license.
