(BE::SHELL ) Png as panel background
Status: Beta

Hi :D
First of all: a big THANK you for be-shell (and for all your work). I spent the night reading the wiki and playing with Be-shell. The result :
http://ompldr.org/vZXA4cw
I love it. One thing i wanted to do is to set images as panel background. With css is possible, right? I copied a png image in the theme folder, and edit the style sheet like this:
.BE--Panel
{
background-image: url("schermata.png");
}
But panel turns transparent. Is it possible?
Sorry if i write you here about be-shell, not sure where to ask this.

Yes, is but this is not a html css ;-)
You have to either provide the full path like "/home/johannes/.kde/share/apps/be.shell/tiles/image.png" or - but that is a be.shell extension! - "${base}/image.png"
${base} is expanded to the theme directory (ie. were style.css resides)
I've to extend the wike more ...

Thanks again !! Now it works: http://ompldr.org/vZXBheA :D
I have to work on it to reach better results, but i found that even like this is gorgeous! I missed the corner on panels.
Btw if a guy like me can actually install and customize that indicate the wiki is at a good point.
THe only issue for now is that be-shell process is taking 40% of cpu...This night was very lightweight. ( i rebooted the computer after i replaced the files in autostart).
What is the ticket page? Sorry i'm awake by almost 3 days, i'm very slow to understand today XD
I didn't know about this project. But now I know.
Thank you guys. I am going to try this out now.
reg. the CPU load
a) does it stop if you restart be.shell
b) what poll interval did you configure for the CPU load (it's in miliseconds, so "5" is certainly not a good idea :-)
c) if restarting "fixes" the cou load it could derive from repeatingly updating theme and/or config
@ hombremaledicto
How did you get that bottom and top panels ? Is it part of Be::Shell ?
I have already built it. But on my setup I don't see the top/bottom panel. I'll spend some more time before concluding to file a bug report.
@ hombremaledicto
Could you please share your config file?
@ baghira-style: after restarting the shell the cpu load returned normal :P
I didn't set the cpu milliseconds load, i had a rapid look now on the configuration page of the wiki, i didn't find it. Now i'll do a second reading.
@: riteshsarraf : certainly: http://sta.sh/07difwz6n89 (there's also my first "theme" - if you want to use it put in the defaul theme folder or -better- create a new folder and put it inside. For the config file simply copy and paste in your, Icons will not work - they're from my icon folder, sorry :(
For anything read the wiki, there are explained many things.
Sorry for my bad english today. As i told, i didn't sleep in these days.
I have another question ( i apologize if i'm beginning to annoy you) : Is it possible to add to the panel kickoff / takeoff plasmoids (maybe by binding a command to the button applet?? or even without to do that).
Anyway: Be-shell is out not by not even a day, and a lot of people is interested in.
And a news: i'm going to start an italian blog on linux with some friends, i want to write a complete guide about Be-shell and bespin as my first contribute :-D
Kickoff is part of the plasma desktop which must be running - in theory that is possible by running be.shell and plasma-desktop at the same time, but that's not a very good idea (notably because every now and then the one or the other would be on top - window managers are not prepared for > 1 desktops ;-)
What in particular do you miss in the BE::Shell runner?
Hehe, it was not a question from me, i was asking it for my friend :)
But i see he opened other topic here.
Yes i prefer to run Only Be::Shell instead of plasma + be shell.
I have to set the runner also. Yesterday i didn't read the wiki anymore.
I fall asleep at 11.00 pm, after a long torture in the evening, waiting a girl XD
Here are 50 C° also. A real torture.
