Is there any chance of getting Clonezilla to run on Android devices in the future? I have seen very little about this topic online, except for this fellow's request here: http://www.experts-exchange.com/Programming/Languages/Java/Android/Q_27942090.html.

However, we can't be alone in wanting to make an image backup of a tablet for later restoration to one or more devices. I made a bootable Clonezilla SD card, but I wasn't able to get it to run on my ASUS TF300T Transformer Pad with keyboard docking station and USB port. That may be an issue with the TF300T's inability to set boot priority from an inaccessible BIOS, even with something like Clockwork Mod installed.

However, even in VMware, I was unable to get Clonezilla to recognize the internal SD card of the tablet, which I had powered on and connected via USB cable. I might need to find something that would allow me to power on the tablet without booting into the Android operating system before Clonezilla would be able to create an image from the contents of the tablet's internal SD card.

The issues about using Clonezilla live on Android device are on the booting mechanism, and of course, the processor arch. For the former, the device itself must provide a way to boot from external device. For the latter, we might have a ARM release in the future, but it won't be in the near future...
