Hi,
I have just created an image from a harddrive on a Linux computer. I am not quite sure about restoring an image.
Can you put a brand new unformatted harddrive, e.g., /dev/sdb with the same size as the old one into the same computer, and restore the image into this new harddrive? My confusion is that if you think there is a problem on your old harddrive, why do you want to restore the image into a potentially dying harddrive.
Hope the above makes sense.
Thanks for your insights.
