I am trying to run clonezilla on an old xp machine which has a cpu architecture of x86. When I try to boot from the usb I get the error that the isolinux.bin is missing or corrupted. What might be causing this issue? I created the bootable drive by extracting the software from https://clonezilla.org/downloads/download.php?branch=stable using the i686 architecture and extracting to an empty usb.

Adding to this request because I am having basically the same problem. Copied from my reddit.com/r/clonezilla request.

So I have a client that wants me to clone a HDD in a Noritsu film scanner and photo printing station at a photo development place. I tried to use CloneZilla for this task, however after struggling it get it to run after a couple of hours I had to give up because I was out of time for the day.

The mother board is an Intel MV85010A - Pentium 4, and the system OS is Windows 2000.

I have tried the following versions without success, some just boot to a black cursor, other version hang with isolinux.bin is missing or corrupted.

    clonezilla-live-2.2.2-32-i486.iso
    clonezilla-live-2.3.2-22-i586.iso
    clonezilla-live-2.3.2-22-i686-pae.iso
    clonezilla-live-2.7.3-19-i686.iso

I am hoping someone can clue me in on the latest version that might run on hardware that old.

I fully realize the customer should update this system with something newer, however I cannot force them to make that decision. As such I am stuck having to find a way to complete the request for a cloned HDD for use in the event of a HDD failure.

@Lucas I was able to get around this issue by removing the harddrive from the older computer and running clonezilla on a newer computer with the source and target harddrive connected. I also had to boot clonezilla using UEFI rather than legacy boot.

@David, thanks. I kind of thought it might come to that. This PC is a real pain to remove from where it is installed. It is integrated into a huge metal console, takes like 30 minutes to tear down enough to remove. Though I imagine the time saved fighting versions will be worth it.
