Hello, I've got Clonezilla SE up and running, but I would like to be able to give the client computers individual names like PC1, PC2, PC3 etc. is this possible? (I mean computer name and username).
Thanks in advance!
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
Did you mean Clonezilla SE or DRBL?
If you meant the diskless client mode, yes, you can refer to this: http://drbl.org/installation/03-setup-client.php
"4. If you want to overwrite some or all automatically created hostnames later by "drblpush -i", you can edit "/etc/drbl/client-ip-hostname" now. Check that file for the format. If some machines are not assigned, drblpush will use those automatically created hostname."
If you meant the restored system on the client machine's hard disk, then it really depends on the system. For MS Windows, you can refer to: http://drbl-winroll.org/
For GNU/Linux, you will have to configure the /etc/hostname or setup you DHCP server to assign the host name if it's a DHCP client.
Steven.
