A few questions about DRBL, and Clonezilla SE

    Hello,

I am attempting to install/integrate Clonezilla SE as the imaging solution for about 9-10 subnets of linux workstations at a large company.

My question essentially is: When set up, where would you configure the the management network to have it advertise it's PxE services over 10 subnets? When reading the documentation, it mentioned that the management network was private, and it also looked as if it was not routable. Must it be set up this way? Or can I have it advertise over those subnets if it is the only PxE client on those subnets?

I would like to avoid having to physically move each workstation to the management network location and then move them back, and this is a big reason why I"m attempting to use Clonezilla SE in the first place. Moving over 1000 workstations is bad for my back, and my worker's backs as well.

I thought I would ask if this is possible before I continued the installation.

    Let me know, thanks!

"it mentioned that the management network was private, and it also looked as if it was not routable." -> Normally yes, we use private IP addresses for client machines, however, you can configure that as public IP address.
As for "not routable", if you mean "PXE" is not routable, yes, that's the mechanism of PXE.
Another suggestion is, you can use DRBL live to do that. It's a live CD/USB you can just boot on a machine (e.g. one of your client machines) and run that as a Clonezilla SE sever. Maybe it fits your need.

    Steven.
