I have build a new computer and wanted to help protect it from damage. I wanted to create clone of the OS drive so that if there was a problem, I could just run Clonezilla live from a USB drive and then from a seperate much larger USB drive clone back the clean OS. I was hoping this would save me the trouble of trying to reinstall the os and do all the updates.
I was able to clone the OS drive, however I then tried a test. I deleted some programs from the computer and files. I tried to clone back from my USB clone to my computer with Clonezilla. After removing all the USB drives (one with clonzilla the other with my clone that I was putting back on my computer) and started the computer, windows just tried to repair itself and never booted thus I failed to do what I wanted to.
Any help getting this to work would be appreciated. Are there specific settings that I need to tell clonezilla before I clone the drive from the computer or to the computer? Are there any settings that I need to do in my computers BIOS?
I have a AMD processor (A6) with a EUIF Bios on a gigabyte F2A00XN-Wifi Mobo.
Thanks

So you mean you restored your image to external USB disk?
Maybe MS Windows treats it as different device so it won't boot. Did you try to use MS Windows installation disk to fix the booting?
