I am dead in my tracks on a window 7 pro 64-bit computer.
Clonezilla-live will not restore a disk no matter what I do.
    Restoring from a 1T disk to a 1T disk.
Error Msg in red: failed to create a partition table on this disk: /dev/sda
is the disk to small /dev/sda. HARDLY.
Something happened to the computer on 6-12-2015 and I have no idea what it was.
I am a beginner with Clonezilla and will always be.

In trying to get around this problem I installed PCLinux and it installed
with NO problems. I tried formatting the disk with DBan.
I tried a windows System repair disk and it had no effect.
I tried several different Clonezilla-Live versions - no effect.
This time I could sure use some help fast as I am dead with this computer.

Which version of Clonezilla live did you use?
Did you try the latest Clonezilla live, e.g 2.4.2-10 or 20150608-wily?

    NO - but I will.
Thanks for getting back to me so soon.
There are so many versions that guys like me get confused.
Neither version worked. All I got was a dash blinking on the screen.
I agree I could have made a mistake on 1 but I doubt on both.
    I unzipped version 2.4.2-10-i586.
    I unzipped version 20150608-wily-i386.

I think the problem is solved.
I got a read error on the disk drive. I then installed a new drive
and was able to restore an older version of Clonezilla-live. I deleted
the newest version because I think the failing drive caused the backup
to be corrupted. I used Version 2.3.2-22-i686-pae to do the
    restore.
In my defense I was not aware that the drive was failing.
Thank you very much for your patience with me.

OK, so this is hardware issue. Thanks for clarifying that.

    Steven.
