I am trying to backup a WD 3 TB disk I use in my Synology Disk Station (one
of a set of two in RAID 1) with a Clonezilla live disk
(clonezilla-live-20150217-utopic-amd64.iso) on my 64 bit system.
All the partitions of this disk have filesystem ext4, which is supported by
Clonezilla. However, whenever I try and create an image of the ext4
partitions, Clonezilla always falls back on copying in dd mode. Even when I
use the expert mode and opt for priority q2 (partclone > partimage > dd)
IIRC, Clonezilla still uses dd mode.
This is a problem, as the disk has very few data on it and I don't have
another 3TB disk lying around.
(I don't know whether it's relevant, but the destination disk's fs is ntfs.)
How can I force Clonezilla to use partclone?
Cheers,
Sando
