I have a Pentium III and trying to copy an image to it. I have tried i486, i686 and clonezilla-live-20161024-yakkety-i386. The latter two freezes with the following error:
not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)
Thanks

Clonezilla 2.1.0-26 i486 work. This is after burning 9 cds. I hope this helps others with really old hardware like my Pentium III attempt to place Debian Testing O.S. using EXT4 file system on it.

Sorry for that. Due to the upstream (Debian or Ubuntu) does not release Linux kernel for Pentium CPU in the recent release, we have to give up supporting old CPU like Pentium.
Thanks for your feedback.

Oops... So even Clonezilla live 2.4.9-17 i686 version did not work for you?
Steven
Steven, the latest I tried is 2.4.7-8. I assume you are suggesting I try version 2.4.9-17?
Thanks, Lex
I tried it and I boots to a blank screen. It does the same in safe mode too.
