1, I back up one 20g partition of my hard drive. The resulting image file is about 14g. I am not sure if the size of the image file is normal or not?
2, I have difficuty in storing the image file under a specific folder. Say, I have one folder which path is d:\mydocuments\new. It seems that clonezilla can only store the image in 'mydocuments' and can not go further to the 'new' folder. Is that right or I did something wrong?
3, When Clonezilla is done with partition cloning, the image file is actually a folder in my computer. Is that right? I have to mention that I changed the image's name to 'xpimg'. Do I need to rename it with '.img' instead of 'img'
Thanks.

As for your questions,
1. Yes. It's normal. By default Clonezilla uses gzip to compress the data of partition.
2. Not really. So far the GUI only allows you to mount the first level. However, you can manually use mount command to do that.
3. Yes. As shown in http://clonezilla.org/clonezilla-live/general-live-use.php
"///Note/// The image name of Clonezilla is actually a directory name. For example, if you give the image name as 2007-05-NOVISTA, all the info will be saved as in the directory /home/partimag/2007-05-NOVISTA/. Inside that directory, MBR, partition table and partition files will be stored. Therefore when you want to restore an image, remember to mount the /home/partimag as the right device or path. i.e. the directory 2007-05-NOVISTA must be in the clonezilla home directory (Ex. /home/partimag)"
You can use any legal Unix dir name as the image name. It does not have to be ended with img.
Steven.
