I'm running the stable live 2.4.2-32-amd64 from usb flash.
I tried a couple of times, to take an image of my system (Mint 17.2 x64 KDE), using the bzip2 multiprocessor option.
It fails at ~78% with "Kernel panic - not syncing" messages.
It says something, about MCE hardware error and Fatal machine check on current CPU.
I took a photo of my screen (with the full extend of error messages). If someone want to see it, please tell me and I'll upload it.
I checked my disk with e2fsck and Gsmartmontool and my memory with Memtest86+, but no problems found.
I don't really need help, because I backed my system up, with the gzip multiprocessor option (and everything went smoothly).
However, if someone knows any further details about that, he may enlighten us a bit! :-)
It seems like a bug to me, but I'm not sure, so I'm posting here. TIA! :-)

Could you please try different version of Clonezilla live?
E.g. 20150817-wily?
It comes with different linux kernel so the results might be different.
Steven.
