I can't get CloneZilla Live USB to boot into Linux on certain laptops (Thinkpad T530, Dell vostro 1520). When choosing any of the choices from the boot menu, it just hangs. An LED on the USB thumb drive flashes constantly. There are no error messages, no clues. I've tried the VGA, KMS, and fail safe options.
I can get the machine to boot without problems using PXE, but sometimes, I'm in a place without a handy PXE server.
I just tried with the current alternative stable release. I created the USB thumb drive with Linux Live USB creator.
I have one T530 boot USB without issues and another that is always a problem.
Any hints or suggestions appreciated.

Forgot to mention, I'm using the amd64 version, downloaded the ISO version both current stable and alternative stable with the same results. I've let LiLi USB format the thumb drive. The T530 I'm having problems with has current BIOS, and isn't configured in EFI/uEFI mode.

Did you try the latest stable clonezilla live, i.e., 2.4.9-17 or 20161024-yakkety?
BTW, did you try different USB flash drive, or the same USB flash drive but on different machine? Sometimes it's hardware compatibility issue.
