Just bought a Huawei Matebook X Pro 2020 and intended before I do anything with this laptop I will create a backup image. Downloading latest Clonezilla (clonezilla-live-2.7.1-22-i686.iso) but unfortunately it stucks at lovely Clonezilla Splash Screen.
Any idea how to fix it? Thanks in Advance, mikeych

hi everyone, sorry newbie here.
Pls help I am having the same issue on a Dell 5420 with Debian bullseye installed.
I downloaded the Clonezilla latest hirsute and impish alternative non-free versions. and still non of the options work.
Weird since when I installed debian buster(stable) it also had a problem but bullseye rc2 non-free installed well. So I am thinking/asking is there a clonezilla version of some sorts that is based on debian bullseye non-free ?
Or is there someone that go it working on these dell machines ? :-).
Much appreciated.

OK so I managed a workaround 😁..
I didn't realize that clonezilla was just a software package like any other until I read it somewhere.
Now since my Kali live with persistence was already working , it was as simple as apt-get install clonezilla 👍 & excuted all good from my terminal in kali live saving my backup of the machine on external USB drive and all clonezilla checks went well..
If I can only find a way to make the kali live install persistent
Thanks for the nice software guys 🙏✊🏼

@Richard, I created a kali linux live usb and installed the clonezilla application on that via apt-get. So instead of using a clonezilla live usb to boot , I used kali linux live and then installed and ran clonezilla as any other app. just note that kali live or whatever live will not save the clonezilla install so you have to install snd run clonezilla once you booted with your kali live.. one can most probably create your own live image with clonezilla installed, but thats still a bit above me..
let us know if that works for you or if you need any more help or different ideas. I suppose you can use use any of the different linux's that can boot live on your machine and just install the clonezilla application on it. ✊🏼

Try to use the latest one, e.g., Clonezilla live >= 2.7.2-12 or 20210323-hirsute:
