Is Clonezilla really getting Disk sizes wrong?

    Folks,

    Apologies if this all seems like deja vu, but I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to get Clonezilla version 2.4.2-61 to perform a 'Device->Device' ('Disk->Local Disk') clone of 2 x Seagate 2Tb (ST2000DM001-1ER164) disk drives. 'Source' drive is an Internal System Disk and 'Destination' drive is External and USB connected.

    What is standing in the way is that Clonezilla reckons "The destination disk is too small" !.

    Clonezilla reports:-
    Destination disk size 3907029167 sectors (2000.3 Gb)
    Source disk size from the image 3907029168 sectors (2000.3 Gb)

    i.e. A difference of 1 sector.

    And so the program simply terminates.

    Not only do these figures differ from each other but according to the Windows 'msinfo' utility they are BOTH incorrect.

    'msinfo' shows the characteristics of BOTH drives to be:-

    Total Sectors=3907024065
    Size=1.82 TB (2000396321280 bytes)

    i.e. A difference of ~ 5,100 sectors from 'Clonezilla' reported figures.

    Can anyone shed any light on this or any workaround? Or am I being totally naive in thinking that a cloning operation involving two identical drive mechanismsI should be such a big challenge for a utility as widely used as Clonezilla.deal..

    Best regards,

    Gary Wolstenholme
