We've been using this version of Clonezilla (clonezilla-live-20140331-saucy-amd64) to make clones of any new computers we get. It's been working like a charm for creating images and restoring them and have not really had a need to look for a newer version. However, for the heck of it, I tried downloading the latest versions (clonezilla-live-20150217-utopic-amd64 and even clonezilla-live-20150608-wily-amd64) to see if I could restore one of the images we created using saucy, but they both fail with this error: unable to find target partition "sda1".

I can go back to saucy and restore the same exact image that failed with utopic and wily. What can I do to make the newer versions to work with images created from older versions?

    Thanks!

Is your machine using uEFI or legacy BIOS?
There was an issue about uEFI, and Peter shared a tip to workaround it:

Not sure if it works for you or not.
If it does, please let me know so that maybe we can find a better way to use it smoothly.

    Steven.

      Hello Steven,
The machine has uEFI, but before imaging, we always disable uEFI in the BIOS and then image it. We've not had any luck imaging with uEFI turned on. Again, I can image and put the image down all day long if I use "saucy". It just won't work if I try to use a newer build with an image created by the older build. I'll try imaging with the newer version and see if it will work. And will also attempt Peter's fix (though I'm no wiz yet with all these Linux utilities). The image has 6 partitions total.
      Kind Regards,
      Brett
