I downloaded and burnt the AMD64 Clonezilla package (.iso) to a CD and tried to start my system with it, but it just want back to a restart after only 10-15 seconds, every time.
The only possible problem I could think of is the fact that I use my 4-core Intel as a virtual 8-core processor, from my days when I was part of the Folding@Home DC project (Stanford Uni).
Can anyone confirm this, please, so that I can switch back my proc. to its native 4-core setting to work with the 64-bit Clonezilla next time?
Or might there be another problem?
I use an Intel Core i7-860 (desktop socket 1156 LGA) processor.

Did you do a md5sum check for the downloaded iso file?
Besides, AMD64 is the same with x86-64: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X86-64
"x86-64 (also known as x64, x86_64 and AMD64)"

Hi Steven, thanks for that reply; I hadn't checked the hashes, but I don't have problems with transfers on my cable connection (Internet / ISP).
To make sure, I downloaded the hashes you published and checked both MD5 and SHA1 and both are correct. The CD starts, but there seems to be a problem that is detected early and it edosn't get to starting up the Linux GUI.
The only thing I could think of was that it couldn't work with my Intel Quad-core that is still switched to a vertual 8-core.
Otherwise, this is an Intel 4-core that has been working perfectly since 2009, when it did about a year of heavy duty (and OC'ed) Folding@Home before I stopped participating in this DC-project (which I did for exactly 6 years) because of the rising electricity bills and a lowered income.
I will try to switch back my processor to its native Quad-core status and I 'll give it another try.
In the meantime, I created the Image I wanted with the help of Clonezilla 32-bit Live.
;)
