I used Clonezilla to image a R510 Dell server running RedHat Linux Enterprise 5.5 This machine had a working copy of Putty we use to access the Cisco switch via a console cable. Since making the image and copying it to a second DellR510 and trying to use the putty session on the new Machine it open but once connecting to the switch all I get is Garbeled what appears to be ASCI strings across the window. Ive verified the Serial Port is setup in BIOS exactly as the original server as is Putty preferences. But still the garbage continues when connecting with the Switch. I also have a Hard Drive with a clean install of Linux with Putty installed that I placed in this server and it works fine so I know the serial port isnt the issue. What could have been corrupted by the Clonezilla process that would effect putty? I have also de-installed putty and re-installed it with no success! Please ANY IDEAS would be graciously accepted.

OK, so the putty is the client program which you used to connect to a serial console server.
Did this problem occur during running Clonezilla live when you saved or restored an image?
Or?
Steven.
