Steven,

Strange question, but how can I install and run Clonezilla from a SCSI/IDE HDD? I need to boot this drive from our iSCSI host on the network. So, instead of running Clonezilla from the CD or USB drive, I want to boot Clonezilla from a read-only hard drive.

Here are the things I have done:

* Created an iSCSI target on the NetApp server
* On my Linux box, created a new VMWare instance - use Clonezilla as the CD and use the iSCSI target as the HDD
* Booted Clonezilla - got to a root prompt
* Created a new filesystem on the HDD and copied the files from the Clonezilla CD to the root directory
* Installed a new boot block (via Grub)

Each time I try to boot the HDD, the system freezes at the point of mounting the ramdrive and doing the pivot-root

I have tried various things but cannot get Clonezilla to run from the HDD. Any pointers? Basically, I need to boot/run Clonezilla from a hard-drive.

    I would like to install or launch the iso image of clonezilla livecd from my hard disc at startup. I try to find a good configuration with grub but I can't ! do you have an idea ?

  I have some news I have tried to use ISOEmu for the clonezille iso file it works when I launch isolinux to make my choice in the different option of clonezilla but it crached at mounting root !! Do you have an idea ?

  I decided to work directly from the folder casper and lauchn from grub, I have another problem. It want to launch a stuff in scipts/casper but I don.t have this folder what is it ?

  Now I try to laucnh it from my hard disc where is install Ubuntu. The probleme is when I try to launch it from grub or from the cd it stop at casper@debian and I don't know how to launch CloneZilla !
