Can gzip be used with clonezilla for image?

I'd like to use gzip at the command line in conjunction with clonezilla to create a gzip compressed image file. Will this work with clonezilla, and how do I go about using this compression method?

Actually Clonezilla by default will use gzip to compress the partition image… Of course you can choose to use bzip2, lzo or lzma in the expert mode…
