I only use the Clonezilla disk to image windows workstations. I haven't been on linux for some time nor do I have access to do so at work. I remember the image files at this point basically by the date they were created. Is there a way to view the image files and if so rename them so I can rest easier?

Just rename the image directory name. For Clonezilla, the image name is only a directory name, nothing special. Therefore you can just rename it in the image repository.

Or will that cause an issue with restoring it?
Yes, you can rename it.
