When running Clonezilla-live stable 20140630-trusty-i386 to perform a partition backup in KMS mode, all goes well until Clonezilla almost finishes and runs lshw to save the hardware info and DMI info. Then suddenly my monitor will turn black with a message from the monitor saying it is out of range so I never get a chance to reboot the system. This problem does not occur when running Clonezilla in the safe VGA modes.
I use an Intel video chipset.
However, the Debian version of the same date (stable 2.3.3-25-i486) works fine without any problems in KMS mode.
I just thought I would post this so other people who might have this problem can find a workaround by using the Debian version instead of the Ubuntu version.
Thanks a lot for the great software.
All the best,
Roy

Thanks for sharing that. I believe this is linux kernel/hardware support issue. We will keep using the latest linux kernel in the Ubuntu/Debian repositories. Therefore if this issue is fixed in the newer kernel, it will be fixed in Clonezilla live, too.
