I have used for several months "clonezilla-alternative-20140114-saucy" version without problem.
But yesterday I tried the lastest version "clonezilla-alternative-20141208-utopic" and I have a problem at the beginning of the restoration of an image to a hard drive.
It seems like clonezilla can not create the partition on the new hard drive.
The image I try to restore has been created with the "saucy 20140114" version. The image is a Windows 8 system.
I took pictures of the problem:
Error picture (with 20141208-utopic) :

Picture when it works (with 20140114 saucy) :
IMG_2919.JPG
It seems there is an error in step "parted -s /dev /sda mklabel gpt"
I tried with multiple images on multiple computers and still the same problem.
Hello Steven, thank you !
When I do the command manually it works, I have no error message.
But I think the error occurs at the verification of the partition table, before the message "No initial GPT table on disk /dev/sda. Create one now by:" (when it works).

So did you manually run:
parted -s / dev / sda mklabel gpt
on Clonezilla live 20141208-utopic command line prompt?
Does it work or not?
Steven.

Thanks.
It's weird though.
If you find this issue is reproducible, please report it again.
Appreciate.
Steven.
