Not sure if I am doing anything stupid, but I am unable to clone an LVM partition from another. Would appreciate some guidance.
Clonezilla version = 1.2.1-39
HD Layout:
hda1 (27 GB) = Windows XP
hda2 (18 GB) = FC 10 / on LVM
hda3 (300 MB) = FC 10 /boot
hda4 (2 GB) = FC10 swap
hda5 (30 GB) = Windows D:
Attempting to copy LVM on hda2 to hda5, then I can assign Windows D: to hda2.
I tried creating an image of hda2 on an external USB drive and restoring it to hda5. Prior to this, I had booted using Fedora installation media and changed hda5 to an LVM.
When I tried restoring the image to hda5, I opted not to touch the partition info as I simply wanted to copy hda2 across to hda5.
But got an error message 'Failed to restore partition image file /home/partimg/2009-03-08-17-img/hda5* to /dev/hda5. Maybe this image is corrupt'.
Now I know I didn't create an image of hda5, so how do I tell Clonezilla to restore the image of hda2 to hda5?
Thanks for any help.

Sorry, this is the limitation of Clonezilla. It's possible you can rename the image name /home/partimg/2009-03-08-17-img/hda2 to /home/partimg/2009-03-08-17-img/hda5, and some corresponding files in /home/partimg/2009-03-08-17-img/ you also have to modify.
///NOTE/// This is hacking, it's not recommended if you are not know what you are doing. It's always a good idea to backup important data before you restore anything image.

xprezons,
Maybe it's a good idea you send me a tarball of your image dir (Please exclude those large partition image files hda*).
It would be easier for me to understand your partition and LVM layout.

Thanks for being my knight in shining armour, Steve.
Could you please give me more details on files to modify or point me to a post that explains?
All I want to do is clone hda5 from hda2. Is there an easier, less risky way to achieve this?
Cheers.
