I was used to restore in the same conditions, same disk, same partitions, same folder, and is this because of a new version, it stopped to work....
It lists all the partitions, I chose the right folder, I don't know what happens

    (Clonezilla Live 2.8.1-12-amd64 )

I ve made another try but it failed again on a dialogue that is confusing with the dialogue to choose the target, and it takes place before this last one
it is called : Chose the partition (s) from image to restore to destination disk
WTF ? it mentions sdb but sdb is the USB stick where Clonezilla is installed

When you have such issues, please enter command line prompt. Then run these commands:

    1. ls -l /home/partimag/YOURIMG/
    2. cat /home/partimag/YOURIMG/parts
(Replace YOURIMG with your image name)
Please show the results of these two commands.
BTW, if you want to use the older version of Clonezilla live, it's available here:
      https://osdn.net/projects/clonezilla/releases/
      https://sourceforge.net/projects/clonezilla/files/
These links are listed in this webpage:

    OK, thanks a lot Steven
The issue that motivated this topic was an error from me, because I am now only really understanding how the new settings to select the image repository works
The second issue I had (described here too) is something that may lead to give up the restoration process but if we continue it, it works (and we can continue it because further there are securities at the last step (double question Y/N)
So after this time I believe I can run it without problems

So again ... always the same simple process but failed again after 5 times tried
This time it doesn't recognize the image repository I chose and so further, it displays only the "Save" choices (3 first attempts) I get out by ctrl+alt+suppr, and the 2 other attempts, earlier in the process, ther is a screen that say "Error, no existing partition (s) or no unmounted partitions (s) are found ... (even when I shut down the machine completely to be sure to unmount all)
Anyway with ext4 partitions (because I use it also to back up Linux Mint) there is a problem to chose the right "Image folder" and the Image is never where I expected

So when did you change the version that do this, because I want to use a former one

I ve been using it for 10 years since 2012, may, without any problems, but sadly it is finished

Please make sure you have mount the correct device and path as image repository. It seems you are the only one mentioned this issue...
Besides, the image saved by "saveparts" can not be restored by "restoredisk", since it's not an image for the whole disk.
