    Hello,

I use frequently clonezilla to create images on external hard drive, and I am facing a problem.

I am running win 7 to create an image of a 128GB SSD.

    The choices I use:

    -device-disk / partition image from / picture (1st choice)

-local dev (because I want the picture comes on my external hard drive)

I plug my DD and wait approx. 5sec.

    -" Entrance "

And at that time, I have this message:

    "Every 3., 0s: ocs-scan-disk

Avaible disk (s) on this machine:

Excluding busy partition or disk ...

    / Dev / nda: le_nom_de_mon_disque_dur with ability.

Periodically update. Press Ctrl-C to exit this window. "

    -I Press Ctrl-C

And arrives on the choice of the destination disk BUT obviously my external hard drive does not appear.

therefore impossible to select my DD ext.

    For info:

I use Yumi and tried different iso clonezilla (stable at 64 or 86 but also stable alternative) and I have already changed ext disk (1TB and 500GB).

    Someone already faced this message?

In advance thank you for your answers.

Could you please give testing Clonezilla live 2.4.7-12 a try?
    http://clonezilla.org/downloads.php
It comes with newer Linux kernel (4.6.3) so it might support your hardware better.
//NOTE// Backup important data before you use Clonezilla. Just in case.

    Hello,

Thank you for your answer, but it did not work.

However, I tried the "alternative version, Clonezilla live version: 20160627-xenial" and the message still appears

    "Every 3., 0s: ocs-scan disc
disk (s) Avaible on this machine:
Excluding partition or disk busy ...
/ Dev / nda: lenomdemondisquedur with ability.
    periodic updating."

I press Ctrl-C to exit this window and my hard drive is finally recognized !

Apparently I needed to use "uEFI secure boot", and to use AMD64 version of alternative (Ubuntu-based) Clonezilla live.

    The topic is resolved.

    Thank you !
