I just wanted to report that I tried to use clonezilla-live-20150512-vivid-amd64.iso to restore a Windows 7 image and it failed with a sfdisk error "Failed to create partition...Is this disk too small?" The image restores just fine with clonezilla-live-20150505-vivid-amd64.iso. Thanks for your help.

    Hi Steven
I tested clonezilla-live-20150519-vivid-amd64.iso today with the same PC and Windows 7 64 image that failed to restore with clonezilla-live-20150512-vivid-amd64.iso and now it works! No more sfdisk errors! Thanks for the update.

OK, the sfdisk is still broken in clonezilla-live-20150519-vivid-amd64.iso. I tested again with another different PC and different image and it fails with the same sfdisk error "Failed to create partition...Is this disk too small?" Once again the image restores just fine with clonezilla-live-20150505-vivid-amd64.iso. Let me know if you need any more info.

    Hi Steven
I just tested clonezilla-live-20150525-vivid-amd64.iso and it also fails to restore my Windows 7 64 image with sfdisk error "Failed to create partition...Is this disk too small?". I'll be glad to help test any new software. Thanks.

I believe this is related to the new util-linux 2.26. There is a big change from 2.25 to 2.26.
Could you please post the error on the screen when sfdisk is run?
    Thanks.

    Steven.

BTW, did you try Clonezilla live 2.4.2-4 amd64 from
    http://clonezilla.org/downloads.php
    ?

    Steven.

I've tried 20150525-vivid-amd64 and get an sfdisk error as follows:

    Running: sfdisk --force -C 60801 -H 255 -S 63 /dev/sda < /tmp/new_sf.u7dUEI
    sfdisk: invalid option -- 'C'

    Earlier on I also get:

    Error: /dev/sda: unrecognised disk label

I don't know if that is relevant.

Incidentally 2.4.2-4-amd64 is generating the same error with sfdisk.

    @Matt,
Thanks. Now I know where the problem is. In some case C/H/S values will be loaded from the image file, while sfdisk >=2.26 does not support the options -C, -H, and -S, so sfdisk fails.
I will fix this in next release.
    Thanks again for reporting this.

    Steven.

BTW, the deb is in the repository, so if you can not wait, just configure the networking by running "ocs-live-netcfg" in Clonezilla live command prompt, then run:
    apt-get update
    apt-get install clonezilla
    to install clonezilla (>= 3.16.8-drbl1).

    Steven.

Hi Steven, Thanks for the sfdisk fix. I have confirmed that clonezilla-live-20150602-wily-amd64.iso works restoring Windows 7 64 on several computers.

I am getting the same issue doing a disk to disk clone. sfdisk: invalid option -- 'C'
Issue with any current/beta version including 2.4.2-17.

And I am having the sam issue, having tried both the latest Debian and Ubuntu x64 versions of Clonezilla. I'm trying to clone a 250GB Windows 7 drive to a 320 GB drive.

I had the same problem with 2.4.2-10 (sfdisk: invalid option -- 'C').

I tried the testing version 2.4.2-21 and BINGO, problem is gone!

    Dear all,
Thanks for the bug reports. This issue has been fixed in
    Clonezilla live 20150731-wily, 20150731-vivid or 2.4.2-29.
Next week we will push another stable release.

    Steven.
