I am hardly the one to help you but I will try.
I can only tell you how I was able to solve my problem.
In desperation I installed Pc-Linux. Got it going and
that seemed to straighten out my Master boot record.
Then I ran an older Clonezilla-live backup and got lucky.
If you are not familiar with any Linux distribution the
PC-Linux is an easier one to try.
    Hope this helps.

I had a failing hard drive that I did not know was failing.
This probably messed up the MBR.
So I swapped out the drive and installed PcLinux.
(You might have to format the drive 1st.)
This cleaned up the MBR and then I as able to install
    with Clonezilla-Live.
Are you getting any disk read failures?

I got the same message when I had my problem and it doesn't
have anything to do with partitions. I have 4 partitions on
my hard drive. This was not my problem. Do you have some way
to check your Hard Drive for errors? Are you able to boot to
your hard drive? Are you able to boot up windows?

The only one I know of is Macrium reflect.
    It is not free.
I would also suggest copying important data to a dvd of a flash stick.
I have separated my stuff from windows, so this is easy for me to do.

    @fabio,
If the hard drive has hardware issue, I suggest you use ddrescue to clone. Before that, as Jack mentioned, copy important data to DVD or USB flash drive asap.
