Clonezilla Fails to Boot - Nouveau Driver Issue
A partition and disk imaging/cloning program

I tested the latest stable & testing versions of clonezilla (clonezilla-live-1.2.5-17-i686.iso & clonezilla-live-1.2.5-24-i686.iso) and both fail to boot up on a new Dell Precision T3500 Workstation. The boot process hangs at the following line and never completes:
[ 16.167907] [drm] nouveau 0000:02:00.0: Raw DCB entry 5: 04022342 00020010
Previous versions of clonezilla boot and work correctly (up to and including clonezilla-live-1.2.4-28-686.iso). So something about the new nouveau driver seems to be causing the issue.
OK, I believe this is kernel issue. How about Clonezilla live 1.2.5-27? It uses a newer kernel than that in Clonezilla live 1.2.5-24.
Steven.
True, encountered the same issue with my Dell Vostro. Finally resolved by selecting some pre-boot option of VGA mode (disable VGA drivers).
Cool. Thanks for sharing that.
Steven.
I attempted to reproduce this bug on HP Pavilion dv9000 (the graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS).
I tested first clonezilla-live-1.2.5-17-i686.iso. During boot, the screen went blank, but it seems Clonezilla Live actually started up in the end. When I pressed Ctrl-Alt-Del and waited a moment, the disc was ejected and pressing Enter rebooted the computer.
There were no problems with clonezilla-live-1.2.5-32-amd64.iso.

The testing version clonezilla-live-1.2.5-35-i686.iso does boot properly on the T3500 Workstation, so it probably was a kernel issue. Thanks.
Cool! Thanks for confirming that.
