No

Clonezilla Live version: 3.3.2-31
Working version: 3.1.2-9

Issue:
Remote-dest and remote-source mode fails with:

"ask_user" is an unknown hard drive

Program terminated.

The target disk is correctly detected by Linux:

  • lsblk shows the disk
  • fdisk -l shows the disk

The same workflow works correctly using Clonezilla Live 3.1.2-9.

Hardware:
Dell Optiplex 7010 i5-3330 and various older Core 2 duo machines.
Sata II Hard Drive on the older ones and Sata III SSD on the newer ones.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Boot Clonezilla Live 3.3.2-31
  2. Select remote-dest
  3. Error occurs

Expected:
Clonezilla should continue and allow image creation.

Actual:
"ask_user" is interpreted as a hard drive name and the process aborts.

Thanks for your feedback. This issue was fixed uploaded to Clonezilla git repo. It will be used in the next testing Clonezilla live, i.e., >= 3.3.3-5 or 20260613-*.

Please give testing Clonezilla live >= 3.3.3-8 or 20260616-* a try:
    https://clonezilla.org/downloads.php
Let us know the results if you try that.
    Thanks.

I came across the same problem a week ago. I had success with 20260616-resolute. Thanks!
