Issue found when I tried to clone my hard drive as usual.
it has three partitions sda1,sda2 and sda3.
clonezilla copied successfully sda1 (FAT) and sda2 (EXT4) and failed to copy sda3 (NTFS).
it doesn't recognize the NTFS file system (see screenshot)!
i checked the sda3's file system using disks on ubuntu, it is clean no errors
if i try to repair it while cloning using clonezilla, ubuntu can't mount the partition unless I run a disk repair using "disks".
Then, the partition is mounted without any problem!!
the last successful clone is done using clonezilla-live-3.0.1-8-amd64 on ubuntu 20.04 LTS.
Actually, my OS is ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS and i got the same problem using clonezilla-live-3.0.1-8-amd64 and clonezilla-live-3.1.3-16-amd64
What did you mean by this:
unless I run a disk repair using "disks".
?
Actually I believe you should enter MS Windows and run "chkdsk" for your /dev/sda3.
After that, it should be OK for Clonezilla to save it.

I mean a software in ubuntu called disks (see screenshot).
only Ubuntu is installed on my machine, so i can't use MS windows.
it's the first time i encounter this problem.
i cloned my same computer several times using clonezilla without any problem

This kind of issue normally is due to the file system is not unmounted when rebooting or shutting down.
Since only Ubuntu Linux is installed on that machine, it's recommended to use Linux's file system, not MS Windows'. Apparently there is no good NTFS fsck tool existing for GNU/Linux.
Steven
That means that something changed within successive LTS ubuntu's distributions.
As I said, with older ubuntu's distributions i got no problem, and I don't unmount any partition before rebooting and/or shutting down
It's only with the installed one, 22.04.5 LTS.
I'll try once again the cloning process and I'll unmount the ntfs file system before powering off the machine.
I hope that will solve the problem.
