Current stable version(debian 2.6.7-28-amd64) crashed when choosing to load in memory and remove media. Kernal panic, with something to do with memdisk not found.

    I can not reproduce this issue here.
    Maybe you can give Clonezilla live 20200703-focal a try.
    BTW, make sure your RAM is big enough and flawless. You can do a memtest. In addition, make sure the flash drive is flawless, too. If you are not sure, try different USB flash drive.

    I have 8GB of ram. I tried both CD & USB. I have UEFI secure-boot on. It works if I boot with BIOS.

    No idea. I tested it on secure boot uEFI machine, and the option "To RAM" worked flawlessly.
    How about trying the same USB flash drive on different machine? Or Clonezilla live 20200703-focal? Any difference?

    My mistake! It only failed on my usb which is created by copying 3 directorys from the cd. The Ram operation tries to copy the cd to a memory device which of course failed! I should've made the usb with tuxboot which will maintain the cd image/sequence on usb. Anyways, I don't need that function with a usb.
    Sorry for the confusion!
