I can not reproduce the problem here.
Did you check the MD5SUM for your downloaded iso file?
Besides, please report the error messages on the screen, otherwise it's not easy to know the status there.
Thanks.
Steven.

"Brasero and Xfburn" -> I am not sure if it's compatible with the booting iso. Are you sure it works for that?
Did you try k3b on GNU/Linux? I am sure it will work. Also you can try the "nero" or "InfraRecorder" on MS Windows.

Then I am sure your ISO file is working, and the Clonezilla live actually works. It might due to the hardware compatibility. Did you test it on different CD or CD ROM?

I have the same problem. I burn the 2.1.2-43 and I want to use it on a HPdc7800 and don't boot. The CD boot on another computer. And the previous version boot on HPdc7800.

There is a BIOS message : attempting to boot cd. Drive indicator lights for a moment and then nothing. The computer is not blocked and no error message.

For burning ISO, there is a difference between previous versions to 2.1.2-43.
Indeed, previous versions starts the boot sector to -11,077 (from ATIP) while the 2.1.2-43 release starts boot sector to -11,634.
Do you think this difference can cause an error BOOT ? Should we flash the firmware of the drive ? But no time ! So is this a regression as you say ?
I have not tested the latest version test burn, do you want me to do or what is the same thing since 2.1.2-43 ? Should we not go back to an older version for compatibility ? Indeed, if we can no longer use the CD player in some, how to use a later version ?
Thank you in advance for your help.

So I carved on the two distributions, the 2.1.2-43, same result.
Also tested on a Dell OPT 755, does not boot but displays an error message, which unfortunately appears too fast and then reboot the machine. I can only see ISOLinux ... Error ...
Then I tested the latest test version (2.1.2-53), more boot issue.

Filecheck is o.k.
No error messages to see, only editions of BIOS. PC made always a soft restart.
Think that the access to one the first files on the CD has a problem.
I burned CDs with Brasero and Xfburn.

Steven.
I installed k3b (Xubuntu 13.04).
Result: Same behaviour.
As I wrote older versions worked, burned with Xfburn or Brasero.

So could you test the downloaded iso on virtualbox?
BTW, is your machine in BIOS or uEFI mode?
Steven.
Works on virtualbox.
BIOS mode. My motherboard has no uEFI feature.

But why works the previous version burned for testing at same day?
I'll try it with another hardware on weekend.

@Fabien,
"I burn the 2.1.2-43 and I want to use it on a HPdc7800 and don't boot." -> What was the error message?
Steven.
Hi Steven,
None !
There is a BIOS message : attempting to boot cd. Drive indicator lights for a moment and then nothing. The computer is not blocked and no error message.
Fabien
Most of these cases are about hardware issue. Therefore you'd better to try different CD or machine to identify the issue.
Steven.
I tried it successful on a laptop.
But the question still is: Why older version starts and this version starts not.
Josef
No idea. Maybe it because some program regresses...
If you can identify that, please let me know.
Thanks.
Steven.

Hi Steven,
I was wrong, sorry I thought I remembered right.
In fact, between different distribution, the start sector is different. Why?
And do you think this may cause problems during the boot ?
Fabien
"In fact, between different distribution, the start sector is different. Why?" -> What did you mean? I do not understand that...
Steven.
Hi Steven,
I burn my CD / DVD with wodim (in command line :-)) When I burn a boot disc the start sector should be the same, right ?
While according to the distribution, the start sector is not the same.
I do not quite understand either, but logically, the start sector should be the same.
So, I'll burn a CD in another distribution and then see if it boot.
To see why this is not really the same values.
Fabien

Excuse-me for my english : no more issue, it's ok.
OK, so this issue is gone. Thanks.
