This was certainly not the intent. I don't know what the intent of that code
was - it was back in 1998 -, but anyway now in a cool-down phase is not the
right moment to change this.

I've nothing against users writing scripts that invoke
"clisp -K $CLISP_VARIANT". But I'm against having the _default_ be different
on different platforms. The rationale is still the same.
