CLISP now prints error and information messages localized (in Russian in my case). How to turn it off? I found localized compiler messages inconvenient. For example I can't post it to mailing lists. BTW, the only environment I know which also does so is Adobe Flex. I glanced through the docs, and found the the variable CUSTOM:*CURREN-LANGUES* |

But I inspected it's value, and its ENGLISH. While the messages are in Russian. Best regards, - Anton |

cool.
please pull hg tip and try this:
(with-collect (c) ; check that setting *current-language* actually works
(dolist (l '(german french russian english))
(c (list (setq *current-language* l)
(getenv "LC_MESSAGES")
(sys::text "Bye.")))))
((DEUTSCH "de_DE" "Bis bald!")
(FRANÇAIS "fr_FR" "À bientôt!")
(РУССКИЙ "ru_RU" "До свидания! Не поминайте лихом!")
(ENGLISH "en_US" "Bye."))
I fixed init_language so that if the locale directory is not supplied,
then bindtextdomain is not called and thus whatever was set at startup
is reused.
I hope turning off localized messages will now work.
Please do not hesitate to report your problems here or on the SF bug tracker.
Thanks for your report.

I don't have a build CLISP now. To try this I will need to install mingw, remember how to build CLISP. It may take an hour or two... It will be difficult to find the time in the next days. If that works for you i believe it will work for me to. I can try when there will be next release. (BTW, I saw the impnotes are build nightly; if there would be nightly windows binaries, I might try immediately) Best regards, - Anton |
