when running a huge job, the current approach of just 2
generations may not be sufficient: when the heap is
6GB, even Generational GC may take 40% of time.
more generations may help save the day.
a reasonable default may be 2 generations on 32-bit
machines and 3(4?) generations on 64-bit machines.
