Any option to automatically calculate and display the size of folders in the file panel would be great, similar to the old WinXP FolderSize add on.
+1. If it's going to cause performance issues, how about some temporary mode or hotkey which if acticated shows folder sizes in status bar and you press the hotkey again to turn off the display of folder sizes?
You seem to have CSS turned off.
Please don't fill out this field.
Sure - Hotkey or any other display would be more useful than having to do a properties on each folder.
Ideally you should be able to see the individual sizes of all the folders in one go so you can get an overview of where your storage space has gone to.
The FolderSize program for WinXP did it beautifully, without performance penalties, fully integrated in WinXP Explorer, even on older desktops hooked up on corporate nets.
I really don't see why we have to take 10 steps backwards on this. This was an issue way back in the mid 90'ies between Mac and Win, where the Mac was superior in the OS GUI displaying folder sizes by standard. Let's not go there again.
