    Hello,

I was wondering if it is possible to disable the recent items list?

Do you mean - disable tracking recently opened documents, remove the Recent
Items from the menu, or something else?

I mean 'disable tracking recently opened documents'. I think I just figured it
out myself. I deleted sth from Settings > Customize Start Menu (dragged it
from left to right), and it stopped displaying the recent items. Sadly though,
I can't seem to remember what it was;)

You deleted the Documents item from the start menu. You can get it back by
resetting the menu items (right-click in the items tree and select Reset Start
    Menu).

To disable tracking of documents, open the Taskbar/Start menu settings (right-
click on the taskbar -> Properties), go to the Start Menu page, and uncheck
"Store and display recently opened items in the Start menu and the taskbar"

I'm trying to find this check box, but can't locate it. I'm running the current 3.6.8. Can someone please tell me how I can stop the start menu from displaying the recently opened items next to their applications?

    Hi Ivo,

It seems to not have worked. I have made a screenshot of what I am trying to
    get rid of: http://wordbook.nl/screenshots/recent-
    items.jpg

This is the "show recent programs" feature. Turn it off from the Special Items
    tab (near the bottom).
