You can verify files by uploading them to the Virus Total online scanning
service (VT). VT will scan a file with about 60 scanners. I like to see
at least 2 of these scanners verify that a file is infected before I
believe it: Bitdefender, Avira, Eset Nod32, Kaspersky, and Sophos.
If Clam Sentinel detects a file in error (a false positive detection) as a
"suspicious file" you can whitelist the file as a file not to be scanned.
If it detects a file in error as an "infected file", that is a detection
using the ClamWin Clam AV signature database, and you will have to upload
the file to Clam AV so they can correct the signature--Clam Sentinel can do
nothing about it.
Many "tools" come bundled with other software that is adware or potentially
unwanted.
