i have problems running clamsentinel 1.22 together with clamwin portable. although the clamsentinel.ini settings should be fine, the error message: clamwin.conf could not be found appears after a win8 restart.
clamsentinel.exe, clamsentinel.ini and sentinelrecover.exe are present in ClamWinPortable\App\clamwin\bin.
i have clamwin portable on my usb stick (f:), here are the important clamsentinel.ini settings:
;### Use local ini file (1=yes; 0=no)
UseLocalIniFile=1
;* on ClamWin Portable
PathClamWin=......\data\settings
DirToScan=C:\,D:\,E:\,F:\
;* on Vista, Windows 7
NoScan=%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent,.RBF,.RBS
btw, there is two differing clamwin.conf files in clamwinportable, one in folder app\default\settings and one in folder data\settings.
hope you have some tips for me.

Please read the Clam Sentinel Simple Guide about using Clam Sentinel and
ClamWin on a portable USB drive. I have referenced relevant parts below.
The Clam Sentinel .exe file, .ini file, and SentinelRecover.exe file
must be placed inside the ClamWin bin folder on the USB drive. You also
have to tell Clam Sentinel in the ClamSentinel.ini file to use the local
ini file--the configuration item is UseLocalIniFile 1=yes. (no period).
Then you have to tell Clam Sentinel where the ClamWin.conf file is
located. I don't know why there are two clamWin conf files on the USB--I
guess one of them is a backup. This configuration always works best for me
if I put PathClamWin=f:\ClamWinPortable\App\DefaultData\settings. My USB is
F, The USB drive is usually drive F or G, so change it as needed--it may
be another letter on your system.
You can use Notepad to change the Clam Sentinel .ini file.
Please use a real-time AV like Microsoft Security Essentials or Windows
Defender (Windows 8 or 8.1) along with ClamWin/Clam Sentinel. This will
give you extra protection against todays smart and persistent malware.
Keep a copy of Malwarebytes free antimalware around also as a last resort
cleaner.

changing the path to f:\ClamWinPortable\Data\settings did the trick. i had left it unchanged (......\data\settings), so not to get into troubles. on other pcs the usb stick has a different letter assigned, so i guess i will have to change it over and over again :(
any solution for this issue?

I'm sure that Andrea could change his code to accommodate a bunch of
possible USB drive letters next time he works on Clam Sentinel. However,
there has been no work on Clam Sentinel since version 1.22 back in July of
2014. I'm not sure if he will continue the project. I have had very
little contact with him. I think we will know something by this July.
Malware is getting very smart, and it's hard for a small AV to keep up.
There is an effort to come up with a different version of ClamWin based on
the Clam AV Windows port that will come with a Windows service, real-time
minifilter, and some Clam Sentinel heuristics, but it will not be ready for
several months--if it is ever completed.

Thanks for using ClamWin/Clam Sentine.
Please let us know if you still have problems.
