    Hi Chaomei,

I am a new user for citespace and trying to use Scopus data. I have watched tutorial and trying to convert data from scopus to wos. I have tried both csv and ris. Both occasion , it just stuck after I press the corresponding "convert" button (the mouse cursor spinning for ever). I have attached the ris file. One thing to mention is because the uni computer does not allow us to install any software, I directly use the java file, would that be the problem?

I am using the 6.1.R2 basic version.
    Really appreciate this.

    Best regards,

    Dalu

It needs an update. I have just uploaded a new version (built 5/19/2022). That should work.

    Hi, Chaomei,

Really appreciate the replay and quick fix. However, I had a try with the 19/05 version and the problem remains the same for me. Is there anything I did was wrong?

    All the best,

    Dalu

    Hello Chaomei,

I have been using Citespace for more than 2 years, however in the latest version 6.1.R2 Basic, it appears impossible to convert Scopus data (either RIS or tab-delimited). The same problem as the user above, the cursors just keeps spinning forever. I never had this issue before. I attach one of the .ris files I tried. Can you please help me sort this out ?

    many thanks
    Dimitris

I've just tested your ris file with 6.1.R2 Basic Built 7/4/2022. It runs smoothly with an accuracy of 98%.
See attached: the converted file and the visual.

    Hello Chaomei,

Unfortunately I have been experiencing the same issue with CiteSpace 6.1 R2. I have been running into the same issue all day where I just can't seem to convert the RIS files from Scopus to WoS, the cursor keeps spinning to no avail. I would ask if you can do it for me but I have multiple files that need conversion, and I think it would be easier if you could provide a way that would make it operable for me please?

    Thanks
    Marl

    Good morning,
I have the same problem. I can't convert RIS files from Scopus to WoS.
The cmd window says "DataGUI 127: data.properties (Acess denied)" when i choose the directory where i have saved data.
I tried to unistall citespace and than re-install it (the latest Version 6.1.R3 Basic (9/6/2022-8/31/2023)) but the message still the same. In the middle of august i used the same version and input scopus file and back then y manage to do the conversion
    Can you help me?

Additionally i ask you if it is possible to use endenote exported references as input data on CiteSpace.

    Thank you for your attention
    Best regards
    Lara

It runs fine on my computer, including one of the data files provided by a user above. So I need to narrow down where the problem is? What is your locale, i.e., country and language? Is it on Windows 10?Do you have another version of Java on your computer? What is the full path of your folder with data files?

        Good morning,
The computer that I use now and in the middle of august is the same, so I believe is not that the problem. I don't remember to do an actualization of the computer, but it could do an automatic :/
        Answering your questions:
        - What is your locale, i.e., country and language? Portugal / Portuguese
Is it on Windows 10? Windows 11 Pro, 64 bits
Do you have another version of Java on your computer? I think I have just one... Version 8 update 341 (build 1.8.0_341-b10)
What is the full path of your folder with data files? I tried different locations and files before I write to you, for all of them the problem remains. The path is: C:\Users\LARABACALHAU\Documents\Ciber-ataques e Brand Equity\Converter
In attach I send files for you could test.
        Thank you :)

I tested your RIS files. No problem. A few things you can try. First, uninstall your Java 8. Then use the installer msi (assuming you are on Windows); if not, use dmg for mac. They contain java 17 so you don't need to install Java separately. Try this and let me know if you still have the problem.
