Thanks for the suggestions. It isn't exactly what you're asking for, but the current development version saves the window size and position as an application preference, and it uses this when the application is next started. (As I understand it, you're suggesting this information would be saved as part of the project file rather than as an application preference. One can argue either way on which is preferable.) Also, the current development version has a new "Open Recent" submenu that allows you to open recent projects without dealing with the file dialog.

My argument would be that nearly every native Mac application does it the way I suggested and its also the suggested behavior on the Mac. Other platforms have different conventions and I respect that.
It just seems very unintuitive to me that after I've closed a document where the window size and scrolling position have been set to contain the portion of the circuit I'm working on, opening the document again will ignore that and reset the window size and scrolling position to an application default. This also means that when I open multiple circuits they will all be precisely placed on top of each other.
