Cinepaint currently does not preserve (or enable the user
to set) image pixel density (physical image resolution)
information (in dpi/ppi or whatever units). Physical
image resolution preservation on load/edit/save and a
simple GUI feature to set horizontal and vertical
physical image resolution should be added.
Rationale:
Pixel density (horizontal and vertixal physical image
resolution) information is a valuable (and sometimes
necessary) factor in several professional imaging
applications for which cinepaint is otherwise very well
suited. Examples would be scientific imaging (medial
CAT-scans, scans of gel-blots in biological research,
2D computer vision, etc.) and DTP (scanned images, etc.).
Note:
I know the focus of cinepaint development is on motion
picture applications where pixel density isn't important.
However, it's useful in a lot of other applications, and
a common feature in most image editors (and probably easy
to implement), so i hope you'll consider adding it.

A repeatedly arising request.
Its implementation waits for a general meta data API
to the image.
Currently only Cinepaint special informations are
loaded and saved with the image. Copyright, comments, dpi
and so on is still missing.
