It's great finding a project like this, I'm a big fan of the games Delphine produced.
But anyway, I was more or less looking for info on how the Cinematique engine works, there isn't much I could find online, so I was hoping maybe you could tell me more.

there is no much info available on the engine itself.
basically, it's just a script interpreter, very low level (animations are handled by scripts, not by engine).
Cruise is an evolution of this, using the same basic concept but to another level of complexity.
