I'm using python 2.2.3, wxPythonGTK 2.4.2.4, and gtk2-2.2.4.

If you're using the latest Chromium, you no longer need a .crsite file
to run tiled displays.  See the docs in doc/{autostart,dmx}.html

If you really want a .crsite file for the config tool, you can find an
example at the bottom of doc/configtool.html
