Hello,
As I alluded to at the earlier kick-off meeting at
Stanford, I would like to announce the following:
Commercial Support for the Chromium Project
As part of the ASCI VIEWS project PathForward funding,
the DOE/tri-labs have signed a contract with VA Professional
Services (VA Linux) to enhance and extend the Chromium
framework. This effort includes development of formal
testing suites, additional features (e.g. multi-context
support) and optimizations. This 14 month, multi-person
effort is to be lead by Brian Paul. We believe that the
addition of these dedicated resources to the current Open
Source Chromium effort will aid in our ultimate goal of
making available a distributed, scalable, parallel
rendering framework robust enough to support "real-world"
applications and extensible enough to encapsulate new
parallel rendering research.
If you have any questions regarding this announcement,
please contact Randy Frank <rj...@ll...>.
Thanks.
rjf.
